Word types can be configured in any way you like.
Let's say for some reason you want to put Spanish verbs into groups according 
to their conjugation (depending on the ending).
You might want to have word types like this:

*verbos
**  -ar
**  -er
**  -ir

You can create these word types manually. In the word types tool (View->Word 
Types). Now you need to right click each of them and select "Grammar->Verb".

By default Parley sets regular/irregular to be verbs. If not this is a bug 
(please report bugs at bugs.kde.org).
