setMinimumSize and resize

this actually sounds like a bug in QGraphicsLayoutItem if it is indeed true.

but have you actually put debug output into Applet::setGeometry to ensure that 
it is getting called? i took a quick glance through QGraphicsLayoutItem and i 
wonder if setGeometry isn't getting called at all in this case.
