this version resolves some issues:
when the desktop rectangles becomes too small (hardcoded a limit of 16x12
pixels) the background and the margin deactivates automatically
nd even when the margin is active it "feels" the clicks even when the mouse
pointer is under the rectangles, so it works even when the mouse cursor is at
screen borders
