unlocking widgets from panel remote control closes it

This is really counter intuitive. Panel remote control has 3 buttons (labeled), both simply call this or that function, but the "unlock widgets" closes the remote control. Not only is counter-intuitive but unproductive since user (99% chance I guess) was unlocking widgets from this control to change something in the control. Closing it does not help.

Steps:
a) lock widgets
b) RMB on panel
c) panel settings
d) on remote control -> unlock widgets
