Aaron, I think you're missing what a lot of people here are saying.

The pain point is the toolbox itself -- there's this thing on my desktop that *I* didn't put there, and I can't get rid of.  What it does, or how great/wonderful it's supposed to be, is _irrelevant_ if we never use it.

For my part, I will never use it unless it's the *only way* to do something.  (And even then, I would grumble.)  Why?  Because it's clutter and because I like context menus better.  Purely personal preference.

But I think that personal preference should be respected, especially when a lot of people have expressed it.  Yes, I buy the usability/discoverability argument that it should be on by default.  That's fine.  But please include the option.

Also, I think having to replace my whole containment just to get rid of one little toolbox isn't really a solution.  Does that mean I have to fork the default containment?  How is that better than forking Plasma?
