Program launcher plasmoid gone?

So far, I absolutely love the new KDE4 desktop, but I noticed one oddity; why 
isn't there a program/icon launcher plasmoid?  I know there was one in 4.0, 
but it seems to be gone in 4.1.  I prefer to place the programs I use most 
often in a panel at the top of the screen, and I can't seem to do that now due 
to the launcher plasmoid being gone...
