can't display international characters in the taskmanager

Hi everybody,
    I've been using kde4.x from earlier this year, but ever since then the
taskmanager never correctly displayed international characters (chinese in
my case). The windows title works well, but the taskmanager just show blanks
when it find international characters. I'm been using the latest debian
experimental packages 4.0.98-1, and I see this as a quite big issue. Is that
a bug or I got something wrong?
