Summary: Plasma crash while adding plasma applets to the desktop
                    seemingly arbitrarily
           Product: plasma
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: panel-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: pieterste gmail com

Version: KDE 4.0.85 (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 4.3.1
OS: Linux

Plasma crash while adding plasma applets to the desktop seemingly arbitrarily, and when the applets aren't neccesarily working correctly. (ie, dragging them to the desktop only produces a small round black button type thing.)

To reproduce on my system, I just need to drag alot of plasma applets to the desktop and eventually it will crash, but I am aware that this might just be specific to my system, however I'm attaching the backtrace anyway...someone might have the same system heh.

Here is a more detailed description of my system:

Archlinux. (Latest since 2008-07-05)
KDEmod 4. (AFAIK there are no actual modifications to the KDE source, just extra wallpapers and for 3.x series a more modular split package system for Archlinux. )

Linux psteynpc 2.6.25-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Jun 14 18:07:19 CEST 2008 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

2gb ram

nvidia-173.14.09-4 drivers and 8600GT card.

Hope this is enough, and more importantly - I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time by reporting this which may just be specific to KDEMOD (although as I said afaik it uses the original sources.)

Hopefuly you'll be able to see from the backtrace if it's a real problem or just localised to me...

Cheers!
Pieter Steyn
