I have to say, I love the overall look of Plasma...but I really do hate the thing in the top-right corner.  I feel like it clutters my desktop and just looks ridiculous.  Imagine buying a new LCD monitor and having a permanent logo painted in the top-right corner of the monitor.  It would be annoying.  Now...imagine you call the manufacturer and request they stop painting this logo on the viewable part of the display, but the manufacturer adamantly refuses to stop this.  I don't know about you, but I think I would throw the monitor out and go with a different manufacturer.  Between the annoying animated tool in the corner and the fact that the widgets I close come right back the next time I log on, I'm seriously thinking about ditching KDE 4 altogether in favor of Gnome or one of the lighter window managers.
