Merge trunk for 4.0.1

Hello,
What do you think of asking release-team for an exemption to merge  
trunk of plasma and libplasma (krunner too?) in the 4.0.1 branch?  
There are some new features, but none of them (afaik) really introduce  
drawbacks, while instead they just make the whole desktop more usable.

Maybe the release team guys will hate us a bit, but whoever uses the  
distro packages will be grateful to us.

What do you think we should do?
