I liked the icon changes you made. I thought it was an improvement 
over having a background.

I think the desktop icons should mimic the functionality of Dolphin (no 
background by default, but on hover the background is created). 
Either that or dolphin needs to have backgrounds on their icons by 
default. Cmon we need a unified look and feel throughout the 
desktop :).

Is there ever going to be support for selecting multiple icons on the 
desktop? If so how do you guys plan to differentiate selected icons 
from non-selected icons? Many users associate a background with an 
icon being selected..
