it's actually reseting the zoom coordinates for some reason. that's .. odd. 
it's like some sort of autoscrolling. ah, i see! it's center aligning the 
view. fixed in rev#742031.

nope, just the order of calls in the reparenting in applet handle. there are 
still some possible-to-trigger glitches, but it's much smoother now... 

i've also fixed the applet handle gett left behind problem.

all in rev#742035.

not bad for 3 lines of code across two commits. ;)
