well, i think the issue is that because it was in libkdeui, it is possible 
other apps were using it internally. kdetv used to use KPanelExtension and 
maybe, though i'm not sure, also the applet class. it's not doing any harm in 
the kde3support lib and ensure we have full coverage.

the documentation in those classes is certainly misleading now though =)
