[Panel-devel] Zooming

jos poortvliet,

There are 3 levels.

   - The first shows the normal desktops and the applets' contents (100%
   zoom).
   - The second shows the groups with the applets shaded (similar to
KWord) and the applets' icon & name (50% zoom).
   - The third shows the groups iconified (10% zoom).

Level one is to be used as a desktop.
Level two is mostly for moving applets between groups and changing groups.
Level three is for organizing (adding, removing, exc.) the groups. The user
can also enter groups from this level.

We are planning to use mouse-over buttons to control the groups (similar to
how the desktop icons work). When the user moves their mouse over a group,
they will be presented with the option to enter the group (and go into
desktop mode), delete, and other options.

The current status is that the user can zoom in and out. If my code is
correct, the applets should be shaded in group 2 (based on their bounding
box), and an icon displayed in the center of each applet. I can't test this
until kdebase/libs are done compiling though.

If anyone would like to help, I could use it (with the groups especially :-)
).

Thanks,
Aaron (fonz)
