looks good, though i don't particularly fancy the name "tier" ... 
maybe "priority"? anyways.. sounds good, and we should set the search runner 
to be low priority and the exec one to be high =)

as for abstracting out the threading, let's push that out to post-4.0 (only 
another 8 days or so =); config dialog: there was a mockup that had a 
configure button at the top of the dialog. 

maybe ruphy has that mockup around still. it looked nice though.
