yes

perhaps. the way i figured it was:

- for people downloading sources it'll be a few extra kb
- for people downloading binaries it won't even appear
- for people who care about the examples, they'll get them with the sources. 
one less place for them to go. =)

i'd prefer not to maintain code indefinitely in playground/. that's not the 
purpose of it, and i'd hate to abuse it as such.

any other suggestions where we could put examples, then?
