[Panel-devel] status report, going forward

here is our current status report:

kicker is pretty well ported to qt4. we have some layout issue in
containerarealayout, but the crashes seem to be gone. all of those crashes,
btw, have been thus far due to iterator misuse. something interesting to keep
in mind, perhaps moving to java style iterators in some cases would be a good
idea, as would use of foreach.

the pager doesn't work, neither does the systray and there are various
flakinesses but all are due to other kde components not being as far along as
we are.

it's time to start working on libplasma. i'll need most of this week to put
together some documents that we can all comment on and work from.

i'd like to ask that this week be used primarily for cleaning up the code base
(there's lots of ugliness left around =) and tightening up the Qt4 support in
kicker. matt is working on containerarealayout issues and making
kpanelextension aware of their kconfigxt settings

in a way i apologize for not having a ton of stuff already prepped for
everyone to dig into, but i honestly didn't expect plasma to be more than a
couple of people, primarily myself, sort of project. i'm overwhelmed, amazed
and ultimately encouraged by the response.

but now i have to catch up with the project side of things that a project that
suddenly has a lot of people in it demands =)
