Hi Paul, You said that you have updated automake but maybe synaptic did not changed the symlink from /usr/bin/automake -> /usr/bin/automake1.4 to /usr/bin/automake -> /usr/bin/automake1.9 ? Because I was getting the same error and updating automake from 1.4 to 1.9 make it work. -- Oscar BLUMBERG
