[Owncloud] [owncloud] need help in getting started

I followed the steps as mentioned here in
http://doc.owncloud.org/server/5.0/developer_manual/app/gettingstarted.html
I was successfully able to setup the enviornment and install owncloud
development version as mentioned in the link. But when I tried to navigate
to the apps page, I stumbled upon the following error. I am also not able
to enable any app.

curl_setopt(): CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when an
open_basedir is set in /home/ayudh/sites/owncloud/lib/util.php on line 725

please help

PS: I am new to owncloud.
I am using LAMP on archlinux.
