I asked this yesterday in IRC:

09:30:29 <mjob> DeepDiver: What is the state of that AppFramework /
AppTemplate stuff?
09:31:56 <DeepDiver> mjob: the appframework as seperate app will dy due to
dependency issues we will face
09:32:06 <DeepDiver> dy -> die
09:32:16 <mjob> DeepDiver: dependency issues?
09:32:44 <DeepDiver> app1 required appframework verion 1.0
09:32:49 <DeepDiver> app2 requires 1.2
09:33:07 <DeepDiver> app3 requires 1.4.
09:33:09 <DeepDiver> ....
09:33:22 <mjob> ah
09:33:27 <DeepDiver> nightmare
09:33:51 <mjob> yes ... due to the fact, that there is also a dependency on
the ownCLoud version
09:34:29 <DeepDiver> I've been talking to Bernhard and we will try to
change the app framework to make it work inside one apps sub folder
09:34:48 <DeepDiver> and every app can shipp it's own appframework in the
version which is needed
09:35:15 <mjob> isn't that very bloated?
09:36:08 <DeepDiver> I'd perfer to have a working system and size should
not matter

Hope that helps a bit
