In KDE PIM we also have knotes for sticky notes.
And there is one very interesting app called znotes [1]. That has the 
benefit that we could offer it also for Win and MacOS easily and thus 
have the next good argument to convince users on these platforms.

For both it should be easy to implement syncing to ownCloud. BUT: I 
think it only makes sense if we also have good mobile clients. There are 
tons out there. Since we have influence on the desktop clients above we 
could implement a format that a good GTD client on Android or iOS 
understands. Yet I failed so far to find something that is free and well 
documented etc.

If somebody comes up with a good suggestion and cares for the server 
side, I volunteer to do the desktop part.... somewhen ;-) OR even better 
do my best to help somebody else doing it.
