Hi,
i've exactly the same problem and  after some investigation it looks
like this is an issue only on ownCloud instance set up with SSL.
I've tried current stable4 on a non-SSL Apache server and Ampache
works fine with Tomahawk and Justplayer (Android).

Are you using SSL?
