Can you show your configs for mod_proxy?
Something like that?
<VirtualHost *:80>
Servername owncloud.internet
....
ProxyPass / http://owncloud.intranet:8001/
ProxyPassReverse / http://owncloud.internet/
....
</VirtualHost>
With similar settings for https.
ProxyPassReverse should take care about Location headers.
