My reason for wanting to postpone a merge is that I have used the ugly hack 
for LIMIT and OFFSET which works in current master. I don't have time to test 
the new "proper" query before 4.5 because I'm on vacation from Sept. ~14. and 
I have very few hours before that.

As for changing abstractions layers and/or ORM this is a *really* bad time 
release-wise.

If Oracle support is really needed for a customer please do so in a branch.
