I tried to understand the binary format. For me it seems that D is part of the
string.
I could try to print in grayscale. But what would be the difference? I already
see that Okular uses this setting, Firefox does not.

That's also my assumption. But I did not change any setting during my tests
with the different programs. So same settings - different outcome. For me
Okular does something different to other programs. This difference could lie in
color model/color profile. But I did not find any setting other than
print-color-mode.
