Could it be that this is actually "print-color-mode: color" and that the D
isn't really part of the string? Try printing in grayscale or black/white and
check if the print-color-mode changes.

The problem is more likely related to the used color model (RGB, CMYK, ...) or
to color profiles (ICC).

Did you restart cupsd after installing colord? If in doubt then reboot.
