Huh? There are Kate and Notepad++.
The difference is, whether the currently opened file/session is changed.
When you do "Save as", do some changes, and do "Save", the new file is 
changed.
When you do "Save as copy", do some changes and do "Save", the old file is 
changed, as if you never had done a "Save as copy".
