As original filer of this request I feel that I should help clarify this
request.  The gist of it is that this request can be fulfilled using existing
control settings.  My original rationale is the same as that described by
Claus, maximizing utilization of screen real estate for wide screens.  But this
can be done by hiding the page navigation panel.  It's even easier if you  map
shortcut keys.  So now if I want to read two pages full screen with no extra
panels. I just do F10 (mapped to facing pages), F11 (mapped to full screen), F8
(mapped to hide navigation bar). Voila, I have 2 pages filling the entire
screen.  Hope this helps.

So basically this request is unnecessary and should remain closed.
