What do you mean by "poppler"? I am on Ubuntu 14.04, and I have the following
"popplerish" packages:

libpoppler44:
  Installed: 0.24.5-2ubuntu4.2
  Candidate: 0.24.5-2ubuntu4.2
poppler-data:
  Installed: 0.4.6-4
  Candidate: 0.4.6-4
poppler-dbg:
  Installed: (none)

Okular
Version 0.19.3
Using KDE Development Platform 4.13.3

Let me know if I can provide more info. Any explanation or advice regarding
poppler would be helpful.
