"furthermore, the setting of the navigation panel should be kept across the
sessions, ie closing the okular and reopening it (even on a different file)
should preserve the last navigation panel, especially since the "contents" mode
is not such a good default setting."

This is a different issue of what you are reporting, please don't mix stuff in
bugs/wishes, makes it hard to focus on fixing them since they quickly become a
kitchen sink.
