Yeah I feel really motivated to help because you've been so respectful. If you
are seeking help from people on an issue, insulting their work is generally not
the most stellar of approaches...

Anyway, it's clearly a bug I've introduced somewhere. I can replicate via:
 1. Use Xine *or* GStreamer backend.
 2. Stop PA.
 3. Start any phonon client.
or simply by leaving PA running and:
 1. PHONON_PULSEAUDIO_DISABLE=1 kcm

I certainly tested this use case when I developed the integration, so I'm not
quite sure what has caused this regression, but I suspect the latest few
changes I did in libphonon introduced this behaviour (in a bid to make the code
more friendly to backends that did not support PA integration).

I'm surprised I've not had more reports of this as this code has been in
Mandriva for a long time. I guess most folks are sticking with our default
PA-based setup these days....

I'll take a look ASAP.
