Summary: some thoughts about icons and menu
Product: okular
Version: unspecified
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: okular-devel kde org
ReportedBy: iksius gmail com
Version: (using KDE KDE 4.0.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
* I think the icons on the left sidebar are not distinct and informative enough. I'd like to hide the text under the icons, but without the text, it is hard to tell what the icons mean. Maybe Content icon should look more like a tree view. Thumbnails icon could show several pages or something like that. I am still not quite sure about reviews icon too.
* I also find some of the menu icons being not clear enough. This includes "Find next", "Continuous", "First Page", "Last Page", "Show Menubar" and "Show Navigation Panel". If there are not appropriate icons, maybe it is better not to use at all? The same with filter button on thumbnails view - I think a funnel is more like a standart for this action
* I think "Save as" and "Export As" menu items should be side by side, because their functions are very similar
* The icons for the same actions should be the same. This applies for "Previous/Next Page" actions in the menu, toolbar and bottom of the main view.
* The icons for "Previous/Next Page" and "Back/Forward in the Document" should be different. Maybe different colour at least?
Hope this can improve the usability of okular. And sorry if I was not clear enough
