For now yes.
Theorically, the PS backend uses a new freedesktop.org library called spectre 
(that internally uses the ghostscript library); but that library is "young" 
and basically not packaged yet, so for KDE 4.0 we have a copy of it in the 
generator (and thus the ghostscript dependancy).

Yes, having a copy of a library feels a bit deja-vu (KPDF with xpdf), but the 
situation is temporary and almost for sure we ill get rid of our copy after 
KDE 4.0.
