Qt save file doesnt refresh media db

Hi, yesterday i used for the first time my app connected to a windows pc on
a tablet that has no usb mass storage  mode (xoom 2 connected to win 7
using i guess mtp).
The problem i encountered is that when my qt app creates a file it is not
shown in windows explorer. Android file managers like ES and file manager
HD show it.
I found online [1] that the problem is a missing call to update the
mediaStore. As a workaround one can use one of the above file managers to
create a new file or folder and all files are shown.
Can anyone confirm this bug?
