Hi Tymoteusz,

I just realized that you are using a Marble version for Windows which
doesn't seem to download the needed data on the fly (on Linux the download
for higher resolutions should be triggered automatically)

Alternatively you can also download it from here:

<https://marble.kde.org/maps.php>

Best regards

Torsten

Dear Tymoteusz,

the best quality should actually be higher than the resolution shown in
your screenshot.

The data gets loaded from tiles. The maximum quality provided at level 4
should actually look like this:

<https://maps.kde.org/earth/behaim1492/4/000004/000004_000013.jpg>

and Marble should also render this at the same quality.

Please check in your filesystem at
~/.local/share/marble/maps/earth/behaim1492 whether the directory
subdirectories include an entry "4" which contains the tiles with the
highest quality. If this is not the case then there is definitely something
going wrong.

In general the image tiles can be downloaded from
<https://maps.kde.org/earth/behaim1492/4/> . Feel free to download them
and stitch them together (which can be done using some tools or using a
script).

When using this imagery please note that the image data is licensed by the
Germanic National Museum under the CC BY SA 3.0 license.

Best regards
Torsten

Dear Marble Team,

I noticed that you offer a Behaim Globe from 15th century, however the
resolution seems to be a little bit low – would you be able to provide a
source/ full resolution picture (flat map) of that globe?
Attaching the screenshot for the reference:

Thank you in advance and have a wonderful day!

Kind regards,
