Subject: GSoC 2012 Marble Project
To: marble-devel at kde.org, rahn at kde.org
Hi,
I am a 2nd year undergraduate student of Computer Science. I want to apply
for GSoC this year for the project
OpenStreetMap Vecor
Rendering<http://community.kde.org/GSoC/2012/Ideas#Project:_OpenStreetMap_vector_rendering_with_tiling_support>
.
I have read the details of the project. I have kde development environment
built in my system and I have been
trying to understand Marble source code for the past 1 week and I feel that
I can do this project.
I have a specific question:
*Whether the tiles would be on a remote server or stored locally and if the
tiles are stored locally then user has to
download the OSM data himself or there would be any tool which downloads
the required data for the user?*
I would be very happy if you guys clarify my doubt here.
Thanks.
Ashish Verma
