This feature relates to a technical implementation detail of Marble. I believe that most non-technical users of Marble don't want to know about the tile level. Therefore I'd argue that we should have this feature implemented in the same consistent way as for the KDE version: The tile level wouldn't be shown in the status bar by default. A right click on the status bar would reveal a context menu that allows to "check" and thereby enable the "Tile Level". This would reduce visual clutter for most users and would allow technical "insiders" to display the tile level.
