[Marble-devel] Willing to take part in Marble development.

  Hello, everyone!
  I would like to join the Marble development team. I am familiar with
Qt (although not very much, but I'm still learning).

  Here is my short story (perhaps it may help you understand my motives
better and give me some direction in which to start working).
  
  I had been using Rand Mc'Nally New Millennium world atlas for a long
time. I actually started using it when I knew almost nothing about such
things as "Free software" or as "GNU project" - thus I didn't see any
difference between "free" and "non-free" programs. But this situation
has changed during the last year dramatically. Now I try to use free
software everywhere I can. 
  Also some weeks ago I had to do some urgent work and I needed a good
globe image for that. I started to search for a suitable free program
on the Internet, but had found none. The only thing I found was Fred
Wilhelm's announcement about starting a "GNU/Linux World Atlas"
project. He was looking for a lead developer for his project while all
the databases he wanted to provide by himself. I wrote him a letter and
we began to discuss our needs and the possibilities of their
satisfaction.
   The most interesting thing is that I've found Marble's web page (and
Marble itself) the same day I guess. So we took a first glance on it
and decided to do one of the following:
1. To joing this project if the current developers accept our
suggestions about some new functionality to Marble.
2. To take Marble's engine and make our own program if not.

  Some days ago Fred wrote me that he had talked to somebody from
Marble's team and had been told that Marble is going in the very same
direction he wished it to. :) 
  After that we firmly resolved to join this team and to make
everything we need by our own hands, but with your help. :)

  So, I am ready to start now and asking for your advices, tips and
hints for the beginner. I have some quite simple ideas about absent
(yet) but useful features to Marble, which I would like to implement.

  Anyway, please tell me what I should do first.
