Search & Replace - split "in current file" into separate plugin/tab

I haven't followed this thread closely, so this may be off point, but use 
<ctrl>r (Replace) instead of <ctrl>f (Find) for almost all searches within a 
file -- I can type in the entire search string before letting the search 
proceed.
