The problem disappears if I disable either the teletext or the vbi plugin. I
watched the TV for some hours without any problems. 
 I've upgraded the zvbi to 0.2.8, but it doesn't help.

It might be.It seems to be periodic, but I haven't measured the time
intervals between freezes.
