[Kwintv] works in gnome but not in kde

Hi guys,
		I have my bttv module loaded at startup (kernel 2.7.6-bk20) and I can use 
kdetv in Gnome no problems but in KDE I get the "No Devices Found" problem as 
shown in the FAQ. Exiting X and modprobe the module again has no effect.

Could someone point me in the right direction in fixing this? I'm using 0.8.1.
