can't create temporary directory /tmp/cvs-serv770 no space left on device

I'm getting this error when I attempt to checkout from the CVS.

I thought maybe someone had checked in a huge file and my 300Meg /tmp ram=
disk=20
was being swamped.  So I disabled the ramdisk.  That wasn't it.

Is this a server problem?  If so, I'd say the people who wrote CVS should=
=20
probably have put "on server" into their error message...
