   I agree.  We need to rework some of the internals of the channel editting 
code first, but I have thought of this too.

   I don't think we will want to do that.  It will make the UI a little 
inconsistent I think.  We have the tray icon for that instead.

    That's XF86VM if I'm not mistaken.  Support for that is planned, but has a 
much lower priority than many other items right now.

   Hmm good point.  I never thought of this.  I will have a look once the 
plugins are more mature and see if we can eliminate some of these breaks.
