Guiding tries to correct dithering?

Hi List,

As a beginning astrophotographer I’m climbing the steep learning curve. I have chosen to go with KStars/Ekos as an all integrated platform for managing the whole imaging pipeline. After the third imaging session, I think I’m encountering a bug, or the default settings for dithering is not correct for my case.

It looks like that right after dithering, Ekos is starting the next exposure and guiding is trying to correct the dither action. The result is “shifted” stars in the resulting image.

Please see attached two screenshots, one while guiding during an exposure and one just after dithering. I’ve also attached a stretched and cropped image. I used the default values for dithering. My setup is as follows:

- Latest stable INDI on Ubuntu 18.04 linux on Intel NUC
- Latest stable Kstars/Ekos on MacOS
- Skywatcher P200 on EQ5 and EQmod
- Canon 550d with Gphoto
- ASI224MC on Orion 50mm guidescope
- Guiding is via ST4 and not EQmod

Do you have any recommendations to solve this issue? Disabling dithering “solves” the problem, but generates noise streaks on images.
