[Kstars-devel] Installing the USNO NOMAD catalog excerpt

Hi,

I recently downloaded and installed KDE 4.3.3* on a box running
Windows XP SP3, and discovered kstars v. 1.5.3. I have tried at
least four times to install the USNO NOMAD catalog excerpt (all of
the other add-ons installed the first time without problems). The
progress bar goes all the way to 100% then clears, then the add-on
installer pop-up window gets busy for awhile (iow, if the cursor is
placed within that window it becomes a tumbling hourglass), then . .
. nothing. The "Install" button still shows a blue check mark, but
if I click on it another pop-up appears that says "Cannot install
USNO NOMAD catalog (part)." Clearing that pop-up and pressing that
"Install" button again results in the whole process starting
over. Any suggestions**?

BTW, when I ran kstars for the first time and during the setup
process noticed that the default location is Greenville, South
Carolina I wondered if the program might had been developed at Furman
University, home of the Astronomical Workshop that publishes the
annual Astronomical Calendar . . . ?

*After a couple of mentions of it from different sources, I have been
trying to get a working version of koffice to try krita, which does
not seem to be included at all in the latest KDE release. The
version of koffice in this release apparently doesn't work on this
box, either, so I may end up trying an even earlier release before I'm done.
**Short of digging out the CDs for the full USNO A2.0 and trying to
find a way to get the program to use them, that is . . .
