Hello,
As Jason says if you need to continue with your project for the University
and still need some sort of Tcl module to compute coordinates for sky sources
you may download a pure Tcl/Tk package I wrote several years ago and which
I do not maintain anymore. This solution is much faster and simple
than extracting all C++ classes you need from KStars, and creating a Tcl/Tk
module from them (I do not know how to do this either). The precision of
the computations with this Tcl/Tk package is much lower than what you can
achieve with KStars but it is rather reasonable. I licensed that package with
the GPL and therefore you may modify or/and redistribute the code provided
you follow the terms of the GPL license.
Just a comment, if you look at the code you will see that many variables are
in spanish,.. but this is not a problem for you :-)
You may download the package from here:

regards,
Pablo.
