Good idea. Will do. But I think it should also stay in the view item dialog.
In fact, I would like to improve (bug fix) the dialog so that:
arrows and lines list endpoints not box dimensions
  circles list center and radius
when in 'lock pos to data' mode, the dimensions are in data coordinates.

Sounds fine to me.

> Apart from that, as you have probably seen I've just submitted a very detailed proposal for the implementation of the ASCII time feature in the ASCII data source attached to bug #243684. I don't have time to code it right now, especially as it is not completely trivial. But I think the proposal is quite mature and judging by the number of requests we get for that feature, it would be very nice to have it for 2.0.5 (or 2.0.6 if it is going to take a bit longer). Barth, Peter: do you feel like tackling it? Please at least take some time to read my entries and look at the mockups.

I will take a look at it.

.mat files would be great! Not sure we want to delay 2.0.5 for it though.

I would like to release 2.0.5 with no new features - just a few
polishes at most, as well as some documentation for scripting.

Our current users would benefit from the stuff we already have, so I
would prefer to get it out in a week or two. We can release 2.0.6 as
soon as the suggestions you have are ready, plus a real release of
scripting.
