[Kst] 1.5.0 tarball

Greetings,

I'm trying to package up the kst 1.5.0 tarball. I notice a couple of
things that are 'fishy' but I don't really know if the problem is at my
end, or in the tarball.

First, if you run configure, and then run make, the first thing make
does is re-run configure. I think this is a problem where the tarball
isn't quite in a sanitary state. Perhaps when things were modified to
add the translations?

Second, configure doesn't detect the -fPIC option, although I believe it
should (snippet from configure below):
checking whether the g++ linker (/usr/bin/ld) supports shared libraries... yes
checking for g++ option to produce PIC... -fPIC
checking if g++ PIC flag -fPIC works... no
After looking in config.log, there is nothing I can see going on there.
Any ideas/help?

Thanks.
