Here are the results with a warm cache:

Video: GeForce4Ti, 128MB, NVidia drivers, dualhead enabled
System: 512MB RAM, most in use, dual Athlon 2400+MP

simulated plots (1280 x 1024). Rate: 39.4089/s
pressured simulated plots (1280 x 1024). Rate: 43.2692/s
simulated plots (1280 x 1024). Rate: 42.5331/s
pressured simulated plots (1280 x 1024). Rate: 43.4363/s

System was not loaded at the time.  Note that in the QTimer results I posted a 
few minutes ago, there was a parallel compile going on in the background that 
I had forgot about.  It makes the results even more impressive.  Why is it so 
good for me?
