It should work straight away for most of it. After all, the Kolab server 
is "just" a mail/imap/ldap/http server - at least from the point of view 
of the client application.

KMail and Outlook store the calendar/notes/tasks/contacts in IMAP folders 
no the server, but nothing says it must do this too.

AFAICS, the only problem could be wether or not Mozilla can send 
invitations to kmail (and back) and that they understand each other. So 
if you only have Mozilla in your workgroup, you will get along fine with 
Kolab.
